How to Read a SelectStock Stock Page Like a Pro

Search any stock and you land on its page. Here's the reading order that experienced users follow.

1. The header (2 seconds)

Price, today's change, and the AlgoScore ring. Note the "as of" timestamp — our data is about 30 minutes delayed during market hours, and we say so instead of pretending otherwise.

2. The recommendation card (30 seconds)

BUY, HOLD or AVOID — with the reasons listed, plus a bull case, a bear case, and key risks. Read the bear case first. If you can't stomach the bear case, the bull case doesn't matter.

3. The chart (1 minute)

Six months of candlesticks with volume. Hover any candle for its exact open/high/low/close. Is price rising on strong volume (conviction) or drifting on thin volume (apathy)? Where are the recent highs it keeps failing at?

4. Trade Plan (30 seconds)

Even if no chart pattern is active, every stock carries a standing plan: entry at current price, a stop-loss anchored to real support with a volatility cap, two targets, and the risk:reward math. This is *risk management scaffolding*, not a promise.

5. Key Ratios + Financials tab (3 minutes)

Fifteen ratios up front; the Financials tab holds five years of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow — each table followed by a "What this says" summary in plain language ("Debt is 0.3× equity — comfortable"). If a figure shows "—", the footnote explains why (some data genuinely isn't published).

6. News & Events + Price History

Official NSE filings appear within ~30 minutes of hitting the exchange — results, board meetings, acquisitions. Price History gives you 30 sessions of exact numbers plus the 52-week extremes.

Total: about six minutes to genuinely *know* a stock. Do it for five stocks from the dashboard shortlist and you've done more research than most market participants ever do.
